Job Title: Senior Research Associate – Bioconjugation / ADC Development (Contractor)
Work Location: Grafton County, NH
Summary:
This is a 6-to-9 month on-site contractor position for a Senior Research Associate specializing in bioconjugation and in vitro assays. The role focuses on the development, purification, and characterization of antibody-targeted therapeutics for chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative biologics and conjugated therapeutics in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead bioconjugation, purification, and characterization of biologics, including antibodies and oligonucleotides, using advanced chromatographic techniques.
- Optimize and troubleshoot conjugate purification processes at gram scale, utilizing affinity, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and size exclusion chromatography, as well as tangential flow filtration.
- Perform buffer exchange and concentration processes to support downstream applications.
- Conduct comprehensive analytical characterization of antibody drug conjugates using methods such as UV-Vis, SEC, HIC, RP-HPLC, and IEX.
- Support formulation development and stability studies for antibody and oligonucleotide conjugates.
- Execute in vitro assays, including ELISA, RNA isolation, and cell-based assays, to evaluate candidate molecules.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance research project goals and ensure effective cross-functional communication.
- Maintain accurate scientific documentation and ensure data integrity throughout all research activities.
Qualifications:
- MS degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience in bioconjugation, conjugate purification, and characterization, including use of AKTA Pure FPLC systems and Agilent 1260 HPLC.
- Proficiency in buffer exchange and concentration techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to execute in vitro assays such as ELISA, RNA isolation, and cell-based assays.
- Experience with ADC/AOC formulation and stability studies is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and goal-oriented working style.
- Proven track record of working effectively in dynamic, cross-functional teams and maintaining outstanding organizational abilities.
