Summary:
Seeking a Director, Project Delivery to oversee the execution and delivery of a portfolio of studies from initiation through close-out, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to client satisfaction. This role bridges commercial commitments and scientific execution, focusing on outcome-based delivery and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain oversight of all active studies, tracking status, ownership, milestones, blockers, and delivery dates, and ensuring accurate information sharing internally and externally.
- Lead study initiation by coordinating resource assignment, protocol finalization, material procurement, and lab scheduling to minimize time-to-start.
- Establish and communicate project timelines with clients, providing regular updates, surfacing risks early, and renegotiating as needed.
- Diagnose and address delays, coordinate recovery efforts, and feed recurring issues into process and platform improvements.
- Ensure clean study close-out, including delivery of final reports, completion and archiving of GLP documentation, proper sample handling, and triggering of invoicing and client sign-off.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define and prioritize internal tooling, identifying automation opportunities to scale delivery efficiently.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with sales, lab teams, quality, and finance to ensure seamless project execution and compliance.
- Track and drive improvement of key operational metrics such as on-time delivery rate, study cycle time, and time-to-kickoff.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in operations, program management, or delivery, with exposure to regulated or technically demanding environments (e.g., CRO, biotech, medical device, lab operations).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time across competing priorities and cross-functional dependencies.
- Working knowledge of bioanalysis, GLP, or pharmaceutical R&D operations preferred; ability to quickly learn technical domains required.
- Comfortable with software-driven workflows and collaborating with engineering teams to develop internal tools; systems-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills with both technical staff and external clients, able to deliver direct and constructive updates.
- High accountability and results-driven approach, measuring success by outcomes such as on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree required; scientific or technical background preferred but not mandatory.
