Job Title: Research Associate II, Protein Sciences

Summary:
Seeking a skilled Research Associate II to support protein sciences initiatives, focusing on recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization in a collaborative research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct recombinant antibody and protein expression using mammalian cell systems for discovery and platform support.
- Utilize AKTA/FPLC systems and standard chromatography techniques, including affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion, for protein purification.
- Assist with high-throughput protein production and purification across multiple concurrent research programs.
- Participate in medium- and large-scale protein production campaigns to facilitate downstream screening and characterization.
- Perform routine analysis of purified proteins using methods such as CE-SDS, analytical SEC, and DSF.
- Collaborate with automation, informatics, and cross-functional teams to enhance workflow efficiency and scalability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and propose improvements for protein expression, purification, and analytical processes.
- Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records and manage protein samples, data, and inventories.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Protein Sciences, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in protein sciences, biologics, or antibody discovery (industry or academic).
- Hands-on experience with recombinant protein expression and purification workflows.
- Proven ability to maintain sterile technique and perform routine mammalian cell culture.
- Experience operating AKTA/FPLC systems and knowledge of chromatography-based purification methods.
- Background in supporting high-throughput workflows and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with analytical characterization methods such as SDS-PAGE and SEC.
- Exposure to diverse biophysical characterization methods is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented approach.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and contributing to platform development.
