Customer Service Representative
Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Work Location: Surry County, North Carolina
Summary:
Deliver professional support to customers by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving complaints in accordance with established guidelines and standards, ensuring efficient and safe service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders, verify information for accuracy, and ensure completeness before forwarding for further action.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and actions taken using appropriate systems.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints, aiming for resolution at the first point of contact or escalating as needed.
- Set up new product items or customer accounts as required, ensuring all necessary information is collected and entered.
- Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate order preparation, shipping, and freight traffic control, including special scheduling and claims handling.
- Perform administrative support tasks such as responding to calls, processing mail, generating reports, and participating in audits and inventory activities.
- Communicate investigation results or planned actions to customers and refer unresolved issues for further investigation.
- Ensure timely processing of payments and resolution of related inquiries to support revenue collection.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; one (1) to two (2) years of customer service or order entry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Proficient in basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages; able to interpret bar graphs and perform arithmetic with American monetary units.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software, email, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for delivering customer and personal services.
