Production Planner

Job Title: Production Planner

Work Location: Essex County, Massachusetts

Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for supporting the procurement and planning of materials to ensure timely shop floor execution and on-time delivery of products. This role is essential for maintaining efficient manufacturing operations and preventing material shortages.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor the planning and replenishment of materials required for product delivery and machine builds.
  • Analyze MRP system outputs and part replenishment recommendations to ensure material availability.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production staff to support shop floor operations and prevent work stoppages.
  • Track and report on production progress, including external vendor operations, to ensure customer deliverables are met.
  • Provide delivery commitments to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams.
  • Participate in daily meetings to gather status updates and escalate risks as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain efficient processes and standard work documentation for production planning activities.
  • Work cross-functionally to expedite material shortages and support machine assembly teams for timely project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • CPIM certification is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
  • Experience in machine assembly and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Logical, efficient, and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and take appropriate action.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Motivated to take on new challenges in the metal additive manufacturing industry and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, practical mindset, and capable of setting and achieving ambitious goals.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
