Production Planner
Job Title: Production Planner
Work Location: Essex County, Massachusetts
Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for supporting the procurement and planning of materials to ensure timely shop floor execution and on-time delivery of products. This role is essential for maintaining efficient manufacturing operations and preventing material shortages.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor the planning and replenishment of materials required for product delivery and machine builds.
- Analyze MRP system outputs and part replenishment recommendations to ensure material availability.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production staff to support shop floor operations and prevent work stoppages.
- Track and report on production progress, including external vendor operations, to ensure customer deliverables are met.
- Provide delivery commitments to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams.
- Participate in daily meetings to gather status updates and escalate risks as necessary.
- Develop and maintain efficient processes and standard work documentation for production planning activities.
- Work cross-functionally to expedite material shortages and support machine assembly teams for timely project completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Strong listening, interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- CPIM certification is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
- Experience in machine assembly and/or manufacturing environments.
- Logical, efficient, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take appropriate action.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
