Job Title: Research Associate

Summary:
Seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate to support a dynamic transformation team. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, data collection, and collaboration with team members to advance plant transformation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the transformation team to execute daily tissue transfers and weekly transformation runs for row crops.
- Assist in delivering edited plants to controlled environments and support ongoing plant transformation projects.
- Document experiments, collect data, and maintain accurate records using electronic notebooks and tracking systems.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and weekly updates to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Handle multiple assignments and adapt to new tasks in a rapidly changing work environment.
- Ensure laboratory safety by following PPE protocols, understanding SDS, and properly handling laboratory waste.
- Apply aseptic techniques and maintain high standards of laboratory practice throughout all experiments.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the transformation and delivery technology team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Plant Science, Botany, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Experience and practical knowledge in plant tissue culture and transformation techniques.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory safety practices, including PPE and SDS.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently on individual experiments.
- Demonstrated experience in keeping accurate scientific records and using electronic notebooks.
- Experience in collecting data, maintaining records, and tracking experiments.
- Adaptability to handle multiple assignments and transitions in a dynamic work environment.
