Job Title: Clinical Spotfire/SAS Programmer (Contract)

Work Location: Remote

Summary:

This contract position focuses on clinical programming with a strong emphasis on Spotfire and SAS expertise. The role involves developing, validating, and maintaining clinical data visualizations, listings, and reports, ensuring data quality and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical data management and programming deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate SAS programs for data review, cleaning, reconciliation, and generation of clinical listings, tables, and figures.
  • Create and maintain data visualization packages using Spotfire, ensuring alignment with requirements and specifications.
  • Execute, debug, and optimize existing SAS programs and macros, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Perform data mappings, integration, and reconciliation between various data sources using industry best practices and annotated CRFs.
  • Conduct data quality checks, generate supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with data managers and study team members to resolve data issues and facilitate the development of complex reports and listings.
  • Support routine programming, validation, and documentation activities, including statistical programming tasks as required.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of programming activities, code development, and validation processes, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing clinical visual analytics with Spotfire, including data wrangling, is required and the primary differentiator for this role.
  • Proven experience in clinical programming within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with strong SAS programming skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific, biological, statistical, or computer science field or related discipline required; MS in Statistics, Math, or Epidemiology preferred.
  • SAS Certification is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS macros, and data management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices such as CDISC, CDASH, SDTM, and data standardization required.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Academic or industry projects demonstrating solid use of programming techniques and/or programming platforms is a plus.
