Job Title: Maintenance Tech

Work Location: Erie County, New York

Summary:

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment, systems, and facilities through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire protection systems in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure, production equipment, and process utilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, replacing defective parts as needed.
• Inspect, test, and maintain electrical panels, wiring, fire alarm systems, and emergency lighting.
• Support and maintain process equipment such as pumps, valves, mixers, compressors, and instrumentation devices.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of safety-critical systems, including emergency eyewash stations and ventilation systems.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including hazardous energy control procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the maintenance management system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or trade certification (Millwright, Electrician, or Industrial Mechanic) preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, fire protection systems, and fire alarm maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficient with tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software (CMMS experience is an asset).
• Understanding of safety standards such as Lockout/Tagout, WHMIS, OSHA, and fire safety codes.
• Ability to work safely around chemicals, pressurized systems, and high-voltage equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and respond to on-call maintenance requests as needed.
