Job Title: Seasonal Tech
Work Location: Brazoria County, Texas
Summary:
Seeking multiple Seasonal Techs for a 5-month contract in a fast-paced agricultural laboratory environment. This role involves hands-on, repetitive lab work supporting research and quality objectives. Candidates from high school graduates to recent AS/BS graduates are encouraged to apply. The position requires on-site work, with a focus on precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform milling, grinding, weighing, and preparation of samples for grain quality testing in a laboratory setting.
- Prepare chemical buffers and aliquots following established guidelines and protocols.
- Monitor quality assurance parameters and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Operate and maintain automated laboratory equipment and liquid handlers, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
- Document sample flow and laboratory processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and process troubleshooting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and enhance laboratory protocols.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and operational standards while performing structured, repetitive tasks in a loud and physically demanding environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting overall laboratory and research objectives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred but not required.
- Experience in laboratory or agricultural settings is a plus; open to recent graduates and candidates with varying levels of experience.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems using various tools, documentation, and software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Capable of standing for up to 9 hours per day, lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to outdoor weather, extreme heat, humidity, fumes, and moderate noise.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow established procedures, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
