Job Title: Hematology Lab Supervisor

Summary:

Seeking a Hematology Lab Supervisor to oversee daily operations and staff within the hematology department. This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in laboratory practices and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide leadership to the hematology department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to turnaround times.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of laboratory staff, including performance management and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental procedures, policies, and quality assurance programs to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment, including validation and calibration of new instruments and procedures.
• Perform advanced technical duties as required of a Medical Technologist III Lead, ensuring accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
• Foster a safe, ethical, and inclusive work environment, addressing employee concerns and promoting effective communication within the team.
• Coordinate and monitor departmental compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and security guidelines for sensitive data.
• Participate in meetings, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Medical Technologist (MT) and Clinical Laboratory Specialist (CG) credentials required.
• Demonstrated experience in hematology laboratory operations and supervision.
• Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance standards.
• Proven leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with equipment validation, calibration, and maintenance in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Ability to develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, privacy, and security protocols.
