Job Title: Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

Work Location: Erie County, New York

Summary:

Oversee daily chemical manufacturing operations on the 2nd shift, providing leadership to production staff and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. Drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and performance objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics, addressing variances in yield, throughput, and downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records, including batch documentation and process logs, to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support uninterrupted production flow and resolve operational issues.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including proper PPE usage and chemical handling protocols.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate production staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Investigate process deviations or quality concerns, implementing corrective actions and supporting audit readiness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7 years of experience in chemical or process manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processing equipment such as reactors, blenders, pumps, and distillation systems.
  • Understanding of process safety management, hazardous material handling, and batch control systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and effective communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant safety training (WHMIS, TDG, OSHA) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement certification.
