Job Title: Senior Research Associate

Summary:
This position focuses on supporting discovery, pharmacology, and preclinical development programs by executing and developing quantitative bioanalytical assays, with a primary emphasis on MSD-based immunoassays. The role is bench-focused and requires ownership of assay processes from sample receipt through final analysis, ensuring high-quality data generation and effective communication of results.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute and troubleshoot MSD ELISA immunoassays to support pharmacokinetic, biodistribution, target engagement, and biomarker studies.
- Develop, optimize, and qualify new MSD methods, including reagent selection, titration, labeling, and assessment of assay performance parameters.
- Prepare biological samples for quantitative analysis, including tissue homogenization and lysate preparation.
- Analyze, summarize, and present bioanalytical data, clearly communicating key findings and assay performance to research teams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulatory standards.
- Support laboratory maintenance, manage reagent inventory, and assist with assay transfer and oversight of external partners as needed.
- Apply working knowledge of ligand-binding assays, including assay design, reagent selection, and standard curve analysis.
- Utilize data analysis tools and basic statistics to interpret quantitative immunoassay data and generate figures for reporting.
Qualifications:
- BS with 3+ years or MS with 1+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, bioengineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with MSD ELISA assays.
- Working knowledge of ligand-binding assays, including assay design, reagent selection, matrix effects, and standard curve analysis.
- Experience with cell culture techniques, including transfection, iPSCs, and primary culture is desirable.
- Proficiency with GraphPad Prism and Excel for data analysis and figure generation; familiarity with basic statistics for immunoassay data.
- Disciplined electronic notebook practice and traceable record keeping; experience with Benchling or similar ELN/LIMS systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently, prioritize multiple studies, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
