Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across manufacturing, office, and construction environments. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, delivers training, conducts audits, investigates incidents, and leads safety initiatives to foster a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and enhance EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and promote workplace safety.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, including new hire orientation, annual refreshers, and task-specific sessions.
• Conduct regular facility, jobsite, and equipment inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead or participate in investigations of accidents, injuries, near-misses, and property damage, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, certifications, OSHA logs, and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate and lead the Safety Committee, including scheduling meetings, tracking action items, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, updating policies and programs as needed.
• Travel to various facilities and project sites to conduct inspections, audits, investigations, and training, including occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction).
• Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience performing workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of hazard recognition, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience developing or maintaining written safety policies, procedures, and training documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or OHST preferred.
• Experience supporting both manufacturing and construction environments preferred.
• Experience administering or maintaining an ISO 45001 Safety Management System preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry and/or OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.
• Experience leading safety committees or cross-functional safety initiatives preferred.
• Experience with environmental compliance programs, such as hazardous waste management, stormwater, or air quality, preferred.
