Job Title: Director of Nursing

Summary:

The Director of Nursing oversees clinical and administrative operations for nursing teams, including infusion and clinic nurses, nurse navigators, referral intake, and scheduling staff. This role ensures high-quality patient care, staff development, and compliance with clinical research protocols and regulatory standards. The Director also provides hands-on support for infusion procedures and fosters a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise nursing and support teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all roles.
• Deliver training and ongoing education to maintain staff competency and compliance with internal standards and clinical research protocols.
• Oversee adherence to standard operating procedures and participate in their continuous review and improvement.
• Support patient care by communicating care plans, responding promptly to patient needs, and providing timely visits for urgent issues.
• Serve as a clinical resource and educator for new and existing staff, including study coordinators and treatment room nurses.
• Implement and monitor efficient workflows and systems to support compliant, high-quality care delivery.
• Evaluate new clinical research protocols for operational feasibility and manage equitable study allocation among coordinators.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure regulatory compliance, support patient enrollment, and optimize use of clinical documentation systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; advanced degree in nursing or leadership preferred.
• Active RN license in good standing with the state.
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy immunotherapy certificate course required.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
• Experience in oncology clinical research preferred.
• Knowledge of GCP, GDPR, and federal clinical research regulations required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems.
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time; must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven healthcare environment.
