Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Summary:
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, testing, and evaluation of tools and components for challenging environments. This role involves mechanical design, CAD modeling, test fixture development, and technical documentation. The position requires collaboration with laboratory staff and project teams to ensure engineering solutions meet industry standards and client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize mechanical designs for tools and components used in demanding environments, focusing on performance and durability.
- Create, review, and revise 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to design test fixtures, conduct experiments, and interpret test results for product validation.
- Contribute to research and development projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and design improvements.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal teams and external clients, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Coordinate with project teams to manage timelines, track progress, and ensure alignment with project goals and industry standards.
- Apply knowledge of relevant standards and testing methods to ensure compliance and reliability of engineered solutions.
- Engage with cross-functional personnel, including technicians and field staff, to support laboratory and industrial activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering, or a closely related field (4-year degree required).
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including stress analysis, materials behavior, and fluid/thermal interactions.
- Proficiency in machine design and structural analysis for components in high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive environments.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and design revisions.
- Experience with project management practices such as task planning, timeline tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
- At least two years of experience in the oil and gas industry or a relevant engineering field involving mechanical testing, equipment qualification, or reliability engineering is preferred.
- Working knowledge of laboratory testing methods and equipment (e.g., mechanical load frames, pressure vessels, environmental chambers, data acquisition systems).
- Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, and API standards relevant to mechanical and materials testing is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort working in laboratory and industrial environments, including collaboration with testing technicians and field-oriented personnel.
