Job Title: Packaging Manager

Work Location: Plymouth County, Massachusetts

Summary:

The Packaging Manager leads all aspects of pharmaceutical packaging operations, ensuring compliance with cGMP standards and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for departmental leadership, operational efficiency, quality assurance, employee development, and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily packaging operations to maintain safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting, financial reporting, and capital equipment planning.
  • Lead hiring, training, performance management, and development of packaging staff.
  • Assess and qualify packaging processes, equipment, and personnel for cGMP compliance.
  • Develop and implement new packaging processes, equipment, and operational schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient packaging activities.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and procedural requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific/technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical packaging or packaging operations experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
  • At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing packaging operations and personnel.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot packaging equipment and processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, listening, and comprehension abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance and Engineering.
  • Knowledge of process and equipment qualification, SOPs, and controlled documentation.
  • Experience in department budgeting, scheduling, and operational reporting.
  • Background in continuous improvement and process optimization.
