Job Title: PK Lab Tech

Work Location: Los Angeles County, California

Summary:

This position is responsible for the receipt, processing, storage, and shipment of biological samples, as well as managing kit inventory and supporting laboratory operations for a 6-month contract assignment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, store, and ship biospecimens in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain research sample collection supplies and ensure inventory is adequately stocked.
• Record and manage sample data in electronic systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency specimen storage and management, including occasional weekend availability.
• Transport specimens when necessary, using a personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided.
• Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining documentation, scanning forms, and filing records related to sample management.
• Sanitize laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance according to established schedules.
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in sample collection data, coordinating with clinical staff as needed to ensure protocol adherence.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• General knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot unexpected situations while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software applications.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to transport specimens as needed.
• Flexibility to accommodate varying work hours, including participation in on-call rotations.
• MLT background is a plus.
